Madison Munro

Madison Munro empathetically engages with the world around her. A self-described 70-year-old trapped in a young body, Madison approaches her practice gently and allows for as much play as possible. In 2021, Madison received a Shuchat grant to produce an installation out of a desire to artistically respond to the physical and metaphysical effects of the covid-19 pandemic. I AM monotony THIS IS chaos was an exhibit composed of a large freeform crochet piece, monotype prints, and other found materials, exploring nuanced intersections such as monotony, repetition, chaos, and newness. Munro was born in Seattle, Washington, and received her MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and currently works as a middle school fine arts educator in Salem, Oregon.
